The Royals hit the road this past weekend for a rematch vs. their rivals from Seaforth.
The guys were eager for redemption after a tough loss 2 weeks prior during our Embro game. With both teams feeling a heated rivalry, this game had all the feeling of a playoff game.
The Royals got on the board in the opening mins of the first, with a goal scored by #17 Deven Kropf, assisted by linemates #18 Trevor Sauder and #44 Callan Christner. A few minutes later, the visiting team added to the lead with a blast from #6 Jack Wieringa, assisted by #88 Alex Mourani and #18 Trevor Sauder. Seaforth entered the game with 2:09 remaining in the first, 2-1 Royals after 1.
The 2nd period was all Royals. First to score was #12 Greg Noyes from an unselfish feed from #18 Trevor Sauder at 18:39. It was #21 Lucas Bast who put the Royals up 4-1 with a goal assisted by #28 Patrick Vulgan. Finally #10 Sean Kienapple adding the 5th goal of the game assisted by #28 Patrick Vulgan and #12 Greg Noyes. 5-1 Royals after 2 periods.
Down several players after some heated exchanges between the 2 sides, the Royals held on for a 5-3 victory, splitting the season matchup with Seaforth 1-1.
