Royals split weekend - Series tied 2-2
Week 2 of the AA Semi-finals matchup between the Royals and Cents saw both teams grab a win to keep the series tied 2-2 heading into the final weekend.

Saturday night in front of a large crowd in Seaforth, the Royals played a tight game, earning the win by a final score of 2-0 behind the shutout goaltending of #30 Jensen van Boekel.




#9 Collin Hartwick was first to score with what would eventually be the game winning goal.  The goal occurred at 6:02 in the 2nd period, assisted by #93 Mitch Facey and #8 Mike Noyes.

The Royals added to the lead with 3:48 left in the 2nd to take a 2-0 lead off a goal from #28 Patrick Vulgan assisted by #89 Jared Prekup and #11 Drew Gerth.

Final score in Seaforth 2-0 giving the Royals a 2-1 series lead heading into Sundays game.


Sunday's game got underway at 3:30pm in front of the largest Royals crowd of the season.  Scoreless again through 1 period of play, the Royals #15 Matt Zilke was first to strike with an unassisted goal at 15:51 in the 2nd period.  Seaforth answered with 2 back to back goals, while Tavistock was able to tie things up before the end of the period with a goal from #93 Mitch Facey, assisted by #18 Trevor Sauder.  The score was 2-2 after 2 periods of plan.  Seaforth was able to score the game winning goal with 13:52 left in the 3rd and held on for a 3-2 win and tying up the series.
