Royals join the OEHL for the 2023-2024 season
The Royals are pleased to announce that
after a busy summer of preparation, we will be among the 12 founding teams that
have formed the OEHL (Ontario Elite Hockey League). The league will be
operating under the OHA (Ontario Hockey Association) which is governed by the
OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) and Hockey Canada.
We have enjoyed many great years under the WOAA (Western Ontario Athletic Association) umbrella, but this move was necessary to continue the evolution of our league and grow our brand. We are very thankful for all the work the WOAA has done to keep Other leagues operating within the OHA are the PJHL (Jr C.), GOJHL (Jr. B), OJHL (Jr. A) and Allan Cup (Sr. AAA). This move now positions the OEHL (Sr. AA) as the natural graduation for former Jr players who wish to continue playing competitive hockey into adulthood.
New this season will be a 3 on 3 overtime format.
The Regular Season will get underway Friday October 6th with playoffs scheduled to start at the beginning of February.
The top 8 teams will continue to play for the AA Championship while the remaining teams will play for the A Championship.
Other teams vying for the AA Championship in the inaugural season include:

Seaforth Centenaires
Saugeen Shores Winterhawks
Durham Thundercats
