2021/2022 Royals season wrap up
On behalf of
the players and executive, we’d like to thank our fans and sponsors for all
their support this past season. Our team
battled through injury and adversity this year, finishing in the top 4 of the
AA Bracket, losing to the eventual AA Champions, the Seaforth Centenaires While we were disappointed not to advance to
the finals, we all remain proud of what was accomplished and what the future
will hold for this talented group of players!
With the offseason now in hand, our focus will shift to offseason fundraising and getting healthy again so we can bring the AA Championship back to Tavistock in 2022/2023. Hockey aside, I want to shed light on a group of people that seldom get the recognition they deserve. That group is comprised of the spouses, girlfriends and families of our players and executive. Competing at this level of hockey requires a great deal of sacrifice, and none of that is possible without the support our players receive off ice.
This year we saw a few engagements, other families continued to grow, grandbabies were welcomed, while some players became fathers for the first time. Sadly, we also had to say goodbye to one of our hockey Dads this past season. In a fitting celebration of live, full of hockey sweater wearing friends and family, we said goodbye to a longtime Royals fan, hockey Dad and friend, Tom Munro. Tom will be missed by all!
Look for the Royals to continue building on this year’s momentum as we hit the ice in fall 2022. Thanks again for all your support and cheering this past year!
Sincerely,
Kyle Wynette
